The Beginning
Going into my iQuest interview I was thinking of working with my PT Amy to see if physical therapy would be a good field for my career ahead. Soon after I started working at the San Ramon Olympic Pool as a swim instructor/ lifeguard. I have been around pools my whole life so the job was very natural for me. About half way though the summer my big brother Adam (who works there too) made suggested the of majoring in Parks and Recreation, eventually doing what my bosses do. I began to really think about it, and I realized that I have lots of potential for this kind of work. That's what I hope to explore in iQuest- the knowledge of how practical it would be for me to eventually have a career in this field.

It was really interesting to see how you switched from physical therapy to Parks & Rec. You seem like you would work well with that profession so hopefully everything works out. It was nice to learn about what you're really in iQuest for. Your introduction was very informative. It was also very informative as I have found no errors.
ReplyDeleteMaddie, remember to read the blog prompt before and after writing each blog post. I also was hoping to read about your plans for your senior year, in the classroom and with family/friends. The thought process you went through after your brothers suggestions is something you will do throughout your life. Although I do not know you really well, yet, I do love the Park and Rec career for you. There is so many unique jobs, but they all involve people. And, I do know that you are a people person and want to make a difference!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice see that being near pools is natural to you, especially being a lifeguard and swim instructor you have to be. Knowing that, you would make a good fit in doing Parks and Rec. Also by knowing you, you are a people person and would be a good addition in that area. I look forward to reading your blog and seeing how your internship goes. Good luck this year!
ReplyDeleteI think you will do well working in Parks and Rec. I found interesting that you change your internship in the middle of the summer and that your brother helped you find your passion. I hope you have a lot of fun this year!
